We here at YES offer three main summer programs along with a Mentor Training Program to keep the education process flowing when schools are out of session. The first program we offer is our Summer Magic program. This program is limited to our Diversion 2000 clients but it is mandatory that they attend. During Summer Magic, the students will come to our office in East Liberty 3 days a week, two of those day being classroom days and the third (usually Thursday) will be a cultural experience/field trip. During the first two days (usually Monday and Tuesday), the children will receive Math and Reasoning Skills, Life Skills, and a Physical Activity, along with lunch. Some of the places our children attended have been Sports Works, a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, and Rollerrama Roller Rink.

Our second program is our Summer Work Program. This program is intended for middle and high school-aged kids who want to further enhance their employability. During this week-long program, the YES staff will teach the kids all the skills they need from finding the right job for them and applying for it, all the way to maintaining a job throughout the summer and even into the school year. The application for SWFS will be in the link to your right. 2011 SWFS Application.
The last program is prehaps our most comprehensive and productive; this is our Summer Study for Success Program. This gives our Diversion 2000, our Mentoring Partnerships, and any other student wishing to particiapte the chance to further their education in one of our subject areas. Our SSFS subject areas are: College Prep, African-American History, PhysicaHealth & Fitness, Computers & Technology, Music and Law Enforcement.
